Training with the M9

Although the M9 was primarily designed to measure HRV, it can also be used as a heart rate monitor during your workouts.

Training with the M9

To train with the M9, simply put wear it on in the inside of your forearm, just as during the recovery test

Turn it on with the side button, and wait for the white blinking light to turn to a blinking blue light. This indicates it is reading your heart rate.

The LED light in the middle will change color to indicate your current heart rate zone.

Blue for recovery, green for conditioning, and red for overload. Note that your zones will update each time you take a recovery test.

You can connect the M9 to the Morpheus app during your workout, or use it by itself and then sync the data into the app after you’ve completed your workout.

Due to the nature of optical sensors like the one used in the M9, it’s recommended that you only use the M9 during lower intensity workouts without high speed movements.

Using any optical sensor for high intensities, and activities with rapid movements and changes of direction can lead to inaccurate heart rate readings.

For this type of training, the Morpheus M7 chest strap, or any other chest strap, is recommended.

Once your workout is complete, make sure to hold the side button for 3 seconds to turn the power off. You will see it blink red 3 times to confirm that it’s shutting off.

Failure to turn the M9 off will result in the battery draining.

Syncing your data from M9

To sync a saved workout from the M9 to the Morpheus app, simply open the app and press SYNC from the main navigation menu.

From there, connect the app to the M9 and saved workouts will be displayed.

Choose any of the saved workouts that you’d like to import by clicking on the box to the left of the workout(s). Once you’ve done this, you will see the workout details appear on the screen.

You can adjust the starting and ending time of the workout using the sliders. You will also need to select a workout category and then use the sliders to rate how hard the workout was, along with your performance.

When you are finished, tap “IMPORT” to complete the process.

DO NOT close the app or navigate away from the screen during the import.

Once the process is completed, it will give you the option to view the workout results or close the screen.

Note that if there are additional saved workouts that you have chosen not to import, it will ask if you’d like to delete unsaved data. If you choose YES then these workouts will be permanently deleted.

If you choose NO, then they will still be available to import later.
